RE: California Governor Race Dear Friends: As many of you know, today is the filing deadline for candidates for Governor of California. I have taken out the papers and many have signed to get my name onto the ballot. Having watched the race very carefully and weighing all of my options, we have decided that this is the wrong race for us to run and we did not file papers to get KORB! on the ballot. When we first launched the drive to the mansion, we thought one of two things would happen, a lot of folks we havent heard of would appear on the ballot or only one or two big names would appear. With 120 people going onto the ballot we were half-right. So many name candidates, from the world of politics and entertainment, have filed, we fear KORB! will get lost on the ballot unless we were to spend a prohibitive amount of money. Also, there are so many "wacky" candidates on the bill, we feel this election will not be taken as seriously as it should and we dont want to be lumped in with those who are running as a joke, publicity stunt, or protest against the recall. I would like to personally thank everyone who worked on the campaign, especially Mike and Pat Korb, David Rubin, and Jason Cheung, everyone who helped on our commercial shoots, brainstormed platform goals, signed my petitions, and wore the buttons. It was great to see how many people supported this idea. All of your efforts are greatly appreciated. The limited time we campaigned a lot was learned. Running for office is a hard job that requires a lot of time, money, and manpower. We didnt have all of the resources in place this time, but next time around we will be ready. Thanks again for all the interest and support and remember to get out and vote. Sincerely, Matthew R Korb madebykorb.com |
